Literary Geographies and the Work of David Ireland: An Australian Atlas by Brett Heino explores the spatiality of Australian society through the literature of Miles Franklin prize-winning author David Ireland.
Positing the existence of a spatial unconscious of Ireland’s texts, author Brett Heino maps this spatial unconscious to create a complex, unique and highly fertile ideological atlas of the spaces and places of Australia. In the midst of the contemporary spatial crisis, this mapping of Ireland’s work helps us plot our past and present and orient ourselves to the future.
The book launch will involve Brett Heino (UTS) in dialogue with Adam D. Morton (University of Sydney) and Jumana Bayeh (Macquarie University).
