The Sibyl Centre, The Women’s College
University of Sydney

The Discipline of Political Economy at the University of Sydney invites you to a special event celebrating our 50th anniversary.

Following a long student and staff struggle for a pluralist, progressive and practical economics education, a full undergraduate program in Political Economy was established at the University of Sydney in 1975. Over the ensuing 50 years, Political Economy has educated thousands of students who have gone on to make a significant positive difference across many facets of Australia’s economy and society. The success of Political Economy at Sydney has, in turn, served as an inspiration for the international movement for critical political economy research and teaching.

Political Economy at the University of Sydney has always been sustained by a thriving community of students, graduates and supporters. We invite this community to join us at this milestone event, which will feature a keynote address and reflections from some of our wonderful alumni. Please join us to celebrate the enormous achievements of Political Economy at Sydney and look towards a future that requires political economy ideas, methods and policies more than ever.

If you have not done so already, please RSVP today here: https://events.humanitix.com/political-economy-50th-anniversary
